Agricultural land and farm buildings in Hertfordshire

Agricultural
Buildings

Built by contractors who understand farming. Barns, grain stores, livestock housing, and farm infrastructure — designed around your operation, not a catalogue.

Our Expertise

AGRICULTURAL CONSTRUCTION SPECIALISTS

You need a building that works the day it is finished. We build barns, grain stores, livestock housing, and farm infrastructure across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Buckinghamshire — designed for the way you actually farm, not how a brochure thinks you do.

Every project starts with a site visit. We walk the land, discuss your operation, and work out the best solution — whether that is a clear-span machinery store, a ventilated grain drying facility, or a welfare-compliant cattle shed with cubicle layouts and automated feeding.

We handle planning permission and Prior Notification applications, then manage groundworks, steel erection, cladding, and fit-out. We schedule around harvest and lambing — your farming calendar, not ours.

What We Build

AGRICULTURAL BUILDING SERVICES

Barns, grain stores, livestock housing, and farm infrastructure — each one built around your specific operation.

Barns & Farm Buildings

Steel-framed and timber barns for machinery, hay, and equipment. Wide door openings for combine access, clear-span interiors, and built to handle decades of daily use.

Grain Stores

Ventilated grain storage with concrete drying floors, vehicle access, and AHDB-compliant design. Keep your harvest dry, safe, and market-ready.

Livestock Housing

Welfare-compliant cattle sheds, sheep housing, and equestrian buildings. Proper ventilation, drainage, cubicle layouts, and feeding infrastructure included.

Farm Infrastructure

Access roads, hardstandings, slurry stores, silage clamps, drainage, and utility connections. The groundwork that keeps your farm running efficiently.

Agricultural Buildings FAQ

Often, no. Many agricultural buildings can be erected under Permitted Development Rights (Part 6 of the GPDO) without a full planning application. It depends on your holding size, the building footprint, proximity to highways and dwellings, and whether the land sits in an AONB or conservation area. We assess every project individually and handle Prior Notification applications where required.

General-purpose barns, machinery stores, grain storage facilities, cattle sheds, sheep housing, equestrian buildings, silage clamps, slurry stores, and farm infrastructure such as access roads, hardstandings, and drainage. All built with steel portal frames, timber, or composite cladding systems to suit the job.

A standard steel-framed barn or grain store typically takes 8 to 14 weeks from groundworks to completion. Larger projects such as livestock housing with slurry management may take 16 to 24 weeks. We schedule around harvest and lambing — your operation comes first.

Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Buckinghamshire. We are based in Old Knebworth and regularly work on farms near Stevenage, Hitchin, Luton, St Albans, Welwyn, Letchworth, Royston, Aylesbury, and the surrounding countryside. Book a free site visit to get started.

That is the only way we work. Need a grain store with a particular drying floor spec and ventilation layout? A cattle shed with specific cubicle numbers and automated feeding? A barn with door widths sized for your combine? We design around your operation, not a catalogue.

A basic open-fronted steel-framed farm building starts from around £30 per square foot. Fully clad and insulated buildings with concrete floors, roller doors, and fit-out range from £50 to £80+ per square foot. We provide a fixed-price quotation after a free site visit — no hidden costs.
